Beer Packaging Design
Motora was invited by Perro Libre to create one of the illustrations participating in the APL Cidades project. The brewery’s action consisted of creating 9 commemorative labels for each of the 9 cities in which Perro is distributed, in partnership with local artists.
Motora decided to honor Salvador by fleeing the commercial tourist route, and with that in mind, a reinterpretation of “Às Meninas do Brasil” by artist Eliana Kertész was developed. According to Eliana herself, the work, which is on display on one of the busiest avenues in the city, “[…] has a lot to do with my city. I think that Bahia is fat in terms of topography, gestures, grandeur and people, who are very generous.” but, more than that, the “Gordinhas de Ondina”, as they are affectionately nicknamed, represent the female figure in a genuine and natural way, without imposing any kind of limitation on their bodies. How it should be.
Mariana, Damiana and Catarina also symbolize the different origins of the peoples that blend together to form the Soteropolitan DNA, which is receptive, happy and sunny. That’s why they are on the beach, in Porto da Barra; cheerful and comfortable, to remind us that despite any differences, we are always sharing the same sun.
