Sans Serif typography
Ana Banana was developed in 2021 and kept in Motora’s kitchen until now, being tested and applied to just about everything: social media, catalogs, print, apparel, and even contract fine print. Since 2021, it has picked up a few awards, been mentioned in newsletters and podcasts, and has inspired the recurring question: “where do you buy it??” Well, the answer has finally arrived: here!
It’s a variable typeface featuring 9 weights.
Like a good street market, it caters to every customer: its slightly condensed proportions and discreet characteristics from Hairline to Regular are ideal for setting large text blocks. At the same time, its personality shines and grabs attention in the heavier styles, with Black standing out as a show in itself.
Among its key features are deep inktraps, bell-shaped stroke endings, and “smiling” counters. The result is a cheerful, playful, and varied type family that doesn’t lose functionality or unity, enabling cohesive use across all communication pieces.
The project has been recognized by several international awards, including the CLAP Awards 2022, Platinum in Best Type Design for Text; the Brasil Design Awards 2022, Bronze in Type Design; the LAD Awards 2022, Shortlist in Type Design; and Tipos Latinos 2022, Selected in the Display category.
